Day 1: ManaguaSan Carlos –Solentiname Islands
Today, transfer to Managua airport and board a domestic flight to San Carlos. Upon arrival, clear customs and go to the exit door. A representative of our company will assist you and help you reach the docks in San Carlos to take a public boat (pre-booked) directly to Solentiname Islands. The Solentiname archipelago is set in a unique area of profound natural splendor… This morning we will take you to Managua Airport to board a flight to San Carlos. Night at your hotel Catalanica 1* (Rustic) in Solentiname. Meals: D
Day 2: Solentiname – Los Guatuzos Nature Reserve – Solentiame
Early in the morning, get ready for an excursion to Los Guatuzos Nature Reserve. This RAMSAY reserve of wetlands and rain forest is considered the cradle of life for the lake, thanks to its importance as a bird nesting site and critical links in the area’s complex ecological chain. By private boat spot the many different species of birds, river turtles and with some luck crocodiles! In company of your local expert visit and hike in the reserve and admire the rich flora and fauna of this unique place. Night at Hotel Catalanica. Meals: B-L-D
Day 3: Solentiname – El Castillo
Today you will take the public boat back to San Carlos and then a public boat navigating in the San Juan River. Arrive at the small and historic town of El Castillo, where many great stories of pirates and gold hunters can be told… Overnight at Hotel Victoria 1*. Meals: B-D
Day 4:Indio Maíz Reserve & El Castillo Fortress
Today go to explore all nature that the southeast of the country has to offer. We’ll navigate in the San Juan River until reaching Indio Maiz Reserve, where we will go for a hike following the Bartola River. During this visit, you will be able to observe a vast variety of monkeys and an enormous diversity of migrating birds. On the way back to the hotel, stop in El Castillo Village for an early lunch. Then, visit the El Castillo Fortress, which was built by the Spaniards to protect the city of Granada from the English pirates; even the famous Lord Nelson tried to conquer it. Overnight at Hotel Victoria. Meals: B-L-D
Day 5: El Castillo San Carlos– Managua Airport
Morning public boat back to San Carlos. Our representative will take you the airstrip. From there take your flight back to Managua. End of services. You may also continue your trip to other destinations, please consult us!
